Taking a large entertainment center project in Chongqing as an example, this paper discusses the thermophysical properties of membrane structures and their impacts on indoor comfort and energy consumption. The project uses two membrane materials,PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and ETFE (ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer).Through modeling analysis, the impacts of membrane materials with different solar heat gain coefficients on indoor temperature, radiation, and comfort are compared. The results show that the high light transmittance of ETFE membrane is beneficial for indoor lighting, but it also increases the impact of summer solar radiation on indoor thermal comfort. To balance indoor comfort and energy-saving requirements, combined with the project characteristics, this study proposes a stratified air conditioning scheme.Through simulation analysis, this scheme can effectively improve indoor comfort and reduce energy consumption. The research results can provide a reference for the HVAC design for similar large entertainment center projects with membrane structures.
